Pangaea was the last iconic club in NYC and probably the most successful one since Studio 54. It kick-started the bottle-service lounge craze at a time when people just wanted to go out and party. Our mission with Pangaea was to build a space that would encourage haphazard encounter. So we experimented with what happens when personal space is eliminated, crashing people into each other with butt ledges and seats that were made to be danced on. We forced people to be pressed up against each other, proving that you never know when or where you’re going to meet someone new.
