In the past, healthcare design relied on tried-andtrue practices with innovation taking a backseat. Suzen Heeley, executive director of design and construction at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and Lionel Ohayon, founder and CEO of New York firm ICRAVE, wanted to be the exception, not the rule, when they first teamed up on the Josie Robertson Surgery Center in New York.
